Lucian's POV.

I woke up the next morning, and felt no presence of the Omega around.

To some extent, I felt pleased, but I was also sad. Mary had left without even thinking twice. She chose someone who wasn't a member of her over me.

The pain was real, but I decided to spend some time in my study to distract myself.

I was only a few pages in when I noticed that Mary was trying to mind link me.

Wondering why she was doing that, I decided to push it aside. She decided her path already, and no matter how she tried to convince me to come back, I wasn't going to allow it.

She tried to reach me again, and again, even about two times more before I reluctantly decided to answer the call.

“What do you want?!” I barked once I had taken the call. Creased lines appeared on my forehead, and I clenched onto the phone like never before.
