Mia's POV

“What do you mean he left?” I yelled angrily at the nurse who had given me the news. “And you let him?” I asked again, glaring at her.

She gulped, shaking as sweat rolled off her face. If there was a way I could hit her, I would have.

Why didn't she tell me as soon as he made the move? I would have made something work.

“I'm sorry, ma'am. I should have told you because you deserve to know,” she replied with her head lowered, but I didn't care.

“Just get out,” I said, still trying to calm my head down. However, she was still standing there, which pissed me off. “Are you deaf? Leave!!!”

She scurried away, running off before I could make another harsh comment to her.

“No!” I banged my hand on the bed, but then I paused, and started laughing like a maniac.

A dark smirk plastered on my lips soon afterward, and I took solace in the fact they would have been dead before Lucian would have gotten there.
