Kira's POV.

I slowly blinked open my eyes, and twisted my neck to look around the room when I noticed that there was a drip attached to my arm, and it still looked full.

my throat was sore, and my head felt light with a slight throbbing pain. However, I was concerned with my environment.

“I'm at the hospital?” I questioned upon realization, before my eyes landed on Mary, who was sitting on a chair close to the bed.

She looked troubled because her head was lowered, and she didn't even notice that I had woken up.

“Mary,” I called, making her raise her lowered head. Her eyes showed nothing but panic, tears also built up in her eyes, while she struggled to hold them back.

How she acted made me worried. She was strong, and crying was a sign that something was up.

“What's wrong?” I asked, hoping she wouldn't cry, and just tell me what the matter was. Her eyes gaze at me with worry despite me being conscious, and her eyes held pain, something I had never expected.
