Ember’s pov

The sun's rays were what woke me up from my bed the next morning.

I stood up and quickly showered, checked in the babies, fed them, and went downstairs to look around the pack house, making sure things were going fine.

Trent was supposed to return any moment from now and I was giddy with excitement.

I missed him with a passion.

Done with the general rounds in the house, I went back to my room to nap a little.

Not twenty minutes into napping, I sensed that Trent was in the house. Quickly, I ran downstairs and there he was in the middle of the living room, looking handsome as ever, talking to his beta.

His eyes veered to where I stood on the staircase, staring at him and he smiled, walking toward me. I practically flew into his hands as he got nearer to me.

“You are back!”

“In the flesh my love,” he chuckled.

“You are awfully happy to see me,” he noted as I refused to let go of him.

“Of course I am, you’ve been gone a while,”

“I’m sorry. The trip took longer than I thought,”
