The Vow

Ember's POV.

My eyes opened immediately and I felt a presence inside my room. I blinked when I saw Trent standing at the door like an avenging angel. His face was devoid of any smile and fondness which they previously held. "Hey, I've been waiting for you."

He took a glance around the room making me feel very conscious. I was feeling very scared with the way he was acting. Something was wrong which he wasn't telling me.

"Is that so?"

"What is the matter?" We spoke at the same time, and he stuffed his hands into his pockets.

His eyes roamed over mine and I saw sheer hatred shine in them. He was angry at me, there was no two ways about that. "You look scared, did you do anything wrong?"

I shook my head, truthfully, I knew that I looked like a deer that was caught in headlights. "I didn't do anything wrong, but you're scaring me with the way you're acting. This is unlike you."

He shrugged and stared at me again before chuckling. "What would you say about someone who has been hurting
