CHAPTER SIXTY-ONE

Since his father's announcement, a grin had been permanently etched on Caleb's face.

This was the opportunity he'd longed for, for the greater part of his life. Unfortunately, it came a little too late for him to play the game fairly. If the old Alpha had made this announcement earlier, maybe he would have forgiven him.

Now he wanted nothing but to squeeze the life out of him and Andrew.

Caleb stretched his arms, then resumed drumming to an internal beat. He was sitting in a local pub waiting for Mendez.

The 48 hours he gave him expired days ago. Before his father's announcement, he'd trashed Mendez's offer, deciding that Mendez was a snake. He was sure that if they worked together, Mendez would want more later on in the future. He could smell Mendez's desperation to rule Brighton from behind the scenes from a mile away and as far as Caleb could tell, he couldn't become a puppet Alpha.
