Sixty Two

MELINA’S POV

Things hadn't been going well these past few days, ever since Dwane got ambushed during the hunting game, we have all been in fear and at alert, the guard that shot Dwane was pardoned after we found out that it wasn't his doing, he was possessed though he was stripped of his position and was banished out of the park for shooting at the alpha.

The fear of somebody out there trying to eliminate my family weighed heavily in my heart, what was more scary was we didn't know who it was and when next the person would attack. I hate the fact that I couldn't do anything to help out.

Dwane tries not to let the whole issue bother him whenever I'm around him, he masks up his worried face with a fake smile.

I looked at Dwane as he slept peacefully, and my eyes wandered to his injured arm, I touched it gently while being careful so I wouldn't wake him. He made a muffled sound and adjusted. I knew how much he needed the sleep since he hadn't slept peacefully since the day of the
