She wiped her lips, smearing lipgloss all over her mouth. "Gosh. That was not supposed to happen."
I was taken aback. Women never refused me. They fell for my charms and fell hard. But her rejection turned me on the more. I loved when ladies played hard to get. The chase made me nuts. "Are you calling me a bad, kisser?" I asked.
Her cheeks turned pink as she averted her head. The bartender returned with her order. She took a swig, rumpled her face and let out a sharp breath. "So? Do you like it or what?"
"You don't get it, do you?" Her gaze met mine. It was innocent and pure. She took two more shots. I couldn't tell if she was trying to wash away our kiss but I was hooked. "The kiss doesn't matter. It's my job that I care about," she slurred. The alcohol was taking effect on her already.
"So, you came here to work." I felt a wave of calmness in my veins. I was getting drunk as well. Staring at her made me take more drinks.
She burped. "No silly. I came to celebrate a new job that I've been expecting for a while now." She giggled and took another shot. "Woah, this is bloody good."
I fixed my eyes on her lips, desiring to smash into them again. Without another thought, I claimed her lips, savoring the taste of cinnamon in her drink. A moan rumbled from her throat and I had a painful hard-on. Slowly she withdrew and locked her gaze on mine. A smile expanded her cheeks, revealing her white pearls. Then she gagged and muffled a laugh on her palm. I groaned. She was wasted and I didn't want to take advantage of that. I wanted her to be conscious when I did things to her, I needed her to look at me and tell me how good I made her feel.
"What's your name?" I inquired. She stepped down from her stool. Her eyes wide, a mix of shock and disappointment etched on her face.
"Shit, we did it again?"
I chuckled. "What's wrong with that?" She turned to leave but I grabbed her. "Where are you going? Stay? I won't kiss you again, I promise. Since you hate me so much."
Our glance at each other lingered a while until she peeled my hands off her arm. "This never happened. It was a mistake. I'm sorry." Her face drooped as she staggered again, clenching her purse to her chest.
Confusion sprouted in my mind. What did I do? The loud music which I zoned out, returned with high intensity. I felt like I would go deaf if I stayed longer. Scouring the club, I searched for her. The silk dress and brunette but she was no where to be seen. I sighed. Usually, I'm never hooked to a woman. I'm in for the fun, no emotions attached. Yet, this strange woman. This random stranger had captivated me with a single kiss. Or two kisses?
I took out my phone and five messages popped on my screen. It was from the blonde girl. She couldn't make it because she had a cold. Screw her anyway. I didn't want her anymore. I needed the sexy brunette.
The club was boring, so, I left, without a woman to accompany me. Tonight, I only craved one woman. My driver pulled up in my white Rolls Royce and notified me. "No special company tonight, sir," my driver struck a conversation.
I gaped at him through the center mirror. "Andrew. What did I say about talking to me when you're not spoken to?" I snapped.
"I'm sorry sir. You actually said when you're speaking to someone—"
"Why ask questions when you can't help?"
He didn't respond.
"Do you have a woman for me? Huh?" I peered out the window to the busy night of Illinois. Street lights glinted and a hushed crowd went by.
"I—don't have a woman sir."
"So? Why are you bugging me?" I prompted
He gulped. A part of me felt bad for being harsh on him tonight. Usually, I am nice to my workers, they feel comfortable around me but the rejection from this lady did things to me. I was mad. My mind became a blur.
It was my childhood all over again, when I was a nobody and people including my own father rejected me.
I needed her. To teach her who I was and make her eat her words. Different fast cars sped past and something caught my eye in a dark alley with a flickering street light. "Stop the car," I ordered.
My driver stepped on the brake and we jerked. "Reverse. Do it now." Our tyres screeched when he reversed with speed. I glimpsed at her again and a wide grin broke out on my lips. There she was again. My mystery girl.
Right behind her, were five guys trying to sneak up on her. I balled my hand into a fist and gritted my teeth. Opening the door, I dashed out toward her.
"Hi sexy, anything for the boys," they said, snickering.
I watched her chest heave up and down. "Please, don't hurt me," she pleaded but they crept closer.
"What do you take us for? Animals?" They laughed again. The lady tripped and fell on her ass. My heart tightened when I heard her groan.
"Why don't you pick up someone your own size?" I chimed.
Their attention darted to me. "And if its not batman? No mask, tonight?" They asked. Then one of them whispered. "Isn't that Blaze? Blaze Nightingale?"
"Oh good. You do know who I am. Now, scurry on out of here and let my woman be."
"How much can you pay to have her?" A lean one with a bandana on his head, spoke. I assumed he was their leader.
"A couple fists will be enough," I answered. My mischievous smirk on full display. It's funny people think because I am rich, I would be weak and easy to intimidate.
They guffawed. "We don't want to hurt you. Sir?" He said using air quotes. I skittered my eyes to the lady, she shook her head, probably afraid I would get hurt from trying to save her.
I lunged forward and threw a punch at their leader. He tottered back. Wiping his lips, he gasped at the sight of blood. "Want some more of this." I jumped at him when a shot blasted around me.
"Blaze," the lady screamed. The guys scattered in different directions and I fell. A sharp pain erupted from my side. At impulse I placed a hand on my stomach and registered a sleek liquid. I was shot.
"Sir? My goodness, where did they go?" An advanced man shouted as he ran toward us. I lifted Blaze to my laps and pressed a hand on his wounded side. My hands were covered in blood. Tears rolled down my eyes and I called his name over and over again. All the alcohol in my system seeped away. As each of his answers became more faint than the last."We need to get him to the hospital," I told the man. "Wait, here." He ran back and returned with a yellow Rolls-Royce. Together, we took Blaze to a nearby hospital. The ER personals dashed out with their trollers and carried him off. I ran by his side, holding his hand, until one of the nurses pulled me off."Stay here, ma'am. You can't go in there."I stood motionless, distraught from the world around me as the only sound I could hear were my loud breaths. He was taken into a room with double grey doors and two round transparent glasses. A 'don't disturb' sign hung in red. I paced from one end to another. Hoping and praying that he would b
It all came back to me. She knew. When I kissed her, when she pulled away. I didn't know whether to be happy or sad. With her as my coach I had easy access to her anytime I wanted but I never fancied having a fling with my staff. "So, you're my coach?" I smirked. Her lips quivered, she gulped."Mr Nightingale. I'm sorry. It was a mistake," she responded briskly."Okay, I'm lost," Nate added."Excuse us," I said. My gaze fixed on her."Did she do something wrong? Like we could drop her and get another coach," Nate offered."Please, don't fire me. I didn't mean to—""It's enough. Excuse us Nate."Nate gave me a once-over and left the room with Andrew. "I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking—" she tried to explain.I claimed her lips. The softness enveloped me as I sucked on them. "What are you doing? I'm trying to apologise here. I need this job and I'm good at it," she blurted."Sure you are. I just want to know. Did you like it?" She didn't respond but her red cheeks gave her answers away. "Wa
I felt embarrassed as Blaze got to know that I was his new coach, without me telling him myself. It was going to seem as if I intentionally did all that with him, because I was interested in him.He must have thought that I enjoyed it and that is the reason I didn’t reveal who I am to him. While in his car, driven by his driver, I wasn’t comfortable, because we were not in that relationship for this and his driver seemed to be stealing glances at me.“I would love it if you stop staring at me and concentrate on driving, to avoid an accident.” I said, trying not to sound harsh or frustrated.“I’m sorry, ma’am. I’m just curious. For my boss not to be going home with you, did you offend him? My boss doesn’t get angry, easily. It would be best if you tread on paths, carefully, when it comes to him.” His driver said as he took his eyes off me.“You are rude. One more word from you and I will leave this car.” I said, with gritted teeth.“I’m sorry, ma’am.”The driver probably knew that his
I looked from Stephanie to my Father and felt a little anger rising. "Blaze." My Father called rising to his feet and staring at me like he couldn't imagine he was really seeing me."So, I take it, she's your new wife?" I asked and he looked at Stephanie and nodded.Stephanie rose to her feet looking at me with a smile. To my father, it probably looked like she was trying to look nice but I knew what that smile meant. It was a smile of recognition. She probably felt it was interesting to find out I was her husband's son."Stephanie, meet Blaze, my son. Blaze meet Stephanie." He said but I didn't need that introduction, not because I already knew Stephanie but because I couldn't take my anger anymore. What was he doing here? After all these years? Because I was famous? He didn't know what he was in for."Stephanie, right. She's the lady you left mom for. She was so worth it that you made a child fatherless, she was so pretty that you gave your family sleepless nights. She was so good
I was filled with horror as I wondered why the door was left open. I rushed inside to check on Lucas and with relief, washing through my body, he was sleeping soundly. Then I must have not locked the door as I ought to, since my mind was on what Mr. Nate had to say. I gave myself a knock on my head, because that was a mistake which could end up costing a life. And I wouldn’t be able to bear Lucas, missing. He was one of the reasons I stayed alive when everything was rough for me.Then I went back to my room, had a shower and then slept off immediately I got to the bed. I must have been really stressed and the water which calmed my tensed bones had helped me to sleep soundly. The next day, I woke up, ready to take on the day and prove to Blaze, how professional I can be and I wasn’t going to allow him, sweep me off my feet. There was no time for such.I got ready and then went to the sitting room and met my brother, watching TV while he got ready for school.“You are aware that this i
We looked at the door with her eyes still open wide. Then I regained my composure and sat up. The footsteps didn't stop, they only got louder and I looked at Stephanie who's mouth was slightly open as she looked at me. "Under the bed." I said because that was what she should have done the moment she heard the footsteps instead of staring at me. Then I heard a knock as Stephanie swung her feet down from the bed. I immediately put on my trousers and wiped off the sweat that had formed on my face and body. I watched as Stephanie went underneath the bed completely then went to the door. The knock came again and I opened it. It was my mother. "Blaze. Are you okay?" She asked in concern. "I'm fine Mum, just... Just tell him to get out. Tell him to leave. I don't want to see him tomorrow morning." I said and she sighed. "Blaze. I know you're very angry and frustrated but you should hear him out. He's still your father." She said looking at me with her troubled eyes. "I already did t
Mr. Nate was glad to hear that I had changed my mind."So, it would be nice if we give him a heads up, tonight. Not like I am in a hurry, or sort, but it is best, this way." "I understand. I'll be expecting his reply from you, then.""Yeah, I'll call him right now."A few minutes later, Mr. Nate's call came in and I wondered what could have been Blaze's reply."Well, I have been trying to reach him, but he is not picking up. Maybe tomorrow, we'll sort this out.""Uhm... Can you send me the address, at least?" I asked, hoping to get a view of the house I'll be staying at, with him."Oh, sure!"Not long after we ended the call, I got a text from him and I checked the text. It was Blaze's address. I got up and then went out, heading towards the street, which was a bit far from mine.As I got to Blaze's street, I began to check the house number, but I didn't need to do that for long as I saw Blaze, coming out of the mansion and then he entered his car. He looked angry and i was curious a
BLAZE It felt so nice, seeing the shocked face on my father and his whore, whom he called a wife. “What do you mean? Live in your house? Is she your girlfriend?” My father asked, out of curiosity.“That is none of your business, old man. Tomorrow morning, I want you out of here, or, I will do the unspeakable.” I threatened, with an angry expression. Then I turned to Caramel.“So, I’ll be expecting you, tomorrow.” I said, with a smile on my face and escorted her out.“What just happened in there?” She asked, with curiosity and concern, written all over her face.“Well, I thought you were my coach. My personal life shouldn’t be discussed, isn’t it?”“Of course, until you dragged me into it. Shouldn’t I understand a little of what happened, back there? What if I was confronted, outside?” She asked, looking really concerned.“Then you can tell him who you are to me. But this night, I demanded that you shouldn’t speak a word. Want me to drop you off, or you will ta
