Chapter 8. Caramel

I was filled with horror as I wondered why the door was left open. I rushed inside to check on Lucas and with relief, washing through my body, he was sleeping soundly.

Then I must have not locked the door as I ought to, since my mind was on what Mr. Nate had to say. I gave myself a knock on my head, because that was a mistake which could end up costing a life.

And I wouldn’t be able to bear Lucas, missing. He was one of the reasons I stayed alive when everything was rough for me.

Then I went back to my room, had a shower and then slept off immediately I got to the bed. I must have been really stressed and the water which calmed my tensed bones had helped me to sleep soundly.

The next day, I woke up, ready to take on the day and prove to Blaze, how professional I can be and I wasn’t going to allow him, sweep me off my feet. There was no time for such.

I got ready and then went to the sitting room and met my brother, watching TV while he got ready for school.
