Chapter 3: Miss the wedding

Anthony sped to the harbor. This place was often used to trade hot weapons of the Dominic house. Anthony was not only the head of the Dominic family but also the president of a weapons research and manufacturing facility. The headquarters was opened under government protection.

The powerful Dominic family was also due in part to its attachment to the government. They always bring military weapons or in certain murder cases for Anthony's headquarters to study. Or they will request and order a separate weapon for the military. Therefore, if the Dominic and Anthony families don't do anything excessive, the government will consider him harmless.

Outside the harbor, Anthony's bodyguards were closely guarding the crate. Around them, a group of other people was surrounding and trying to rob the other goods. Behind the ferocious crowd, a colorfully dressed man was crossing his arms and smiling amusedly.

“Give me that box. I will spare you the way of life,” said the man.

However, the steadfastness in the eyes of the bodyguard infuriated the man. He ordered his men to deal with them. Anthony's bodyguards retreated and secured the crate. Their wounds were still bleeding. Some were even shot in the leg. This proved that there was once a frenzied brawl.

These people acted so suddenly that Anthony's bodyguards could not react. They looked at each gun in front of them but still chose not to betray Anthony. Death was very near. Suddenly, a gunshot rang out in the distance. The bullet split the wind and then pierced the arm of one of the barbarians, causing him to scream.

The crowd was panicking when Anthony's bodyguards took the opportunity to snatch their guns and turn the tide. The colorfully dressed man looked in the direction of the gunfire.

“Anthony…” the man stammered but smiled a sinister smile.

"Lexi, I remember you're still in detention in France," Anthony calmly approached and stood face to face with his arch-enemy, Lexi Norwood.

“I came to visit you. Long time no see, Anthony,” Lexi beamed, his eyes filled with the danger of a wolf.

In another place, the Celine and Collins wedding of the century was being held in one of the city's most luxurious hotels. Everyone from the aristocracy gathered here to congratulate the young couple. Journalists and reporters were also on hand to hunt for the latest news and photos. The family members of both sides showed warm smiles to welcomed the distinguished guests.

In the bride's room, a girl was closing her eyes while the makeup artist stomped the powder on her face. The door opened. After that, a girl in a white dress walked in and put her hand on the shoulder of the girl sitting on the chair.

“You are so beautiful today,” Stella said in a voice so soft and melodious that anyone who heard it turned to look at her, “I envy you.”

"What are you jealous of?" Regina put her hand on Stella's and teased, “I'm sure you'll find your other half too. I see a lot of guys who are very suitable for our father's conditions are interested in you."

"I don't like them," Stella replied smugly, making Regina laugh. "Actually, I have someone I like. However, he is being assigned by his family to another girl.”

Regina opened her eyes and looked at herself in the mirror. Her face had beautiful lines and angles. If Stella was likened to a pure princess of a fairy, Regina's beauty would be a noble queen. Anyone would love to protect a weak princess. As for the queen, they would be apprehensive and reverent. The tiara on Regina's head further enhanced her aura. Even the make-up artist was amazed that this was the first time he did makeup for a bride with such sharp beauty.

“The bride is so beautiful. If I were the groom, I'd hold her tight so that no one can see her," murmurs from the people in the room made Regina a little shy.

Regina slightly adjusted her curls. She saw Stella's dark face and suddenly remembered the story of both of them earlier. Regina turned and grabbed Stella's clenched hand.

“I believe you will win him. Our family has always supported you,” Regina smiled comfortingly at Stella. The Celine family has had a longstanding reputation in the marketplace. Therefore, Regina was not afraid of the family disparaging Stella, but only afraid that the family did not meet the conditions in the eyes of her father, the man who used family background and money as a measure to make friends.

'It's time for the ceremony, Miss Celine,' the one on the wedding team entered the room and announced.

"I know. I'll be right out," Regina nodded and thanked, then turned to Stella, "Let's go. Do not be sad anymore. I will do anything to help you conquer him?"

Regina was helped by everyone to lift her wedding dress to go to the altar. In the room, Stella followed Regina's tall and beautiful figure, but the smile on her lips was no longer as bright as before. "I'll get him soon, sister"

The good hour has come. Regina was standing in front of the door where being single and being someone's wife crossed. Her arm was around Mr. Celine's.

"Remember not to embarrass me by passing Collins," said Mr. Celine sharply. On his face, he showed only seriousness, but no joy when he married his daughter to someone else. To him, this was just a contract for the two families to become closer.

"Yes, Father," Regina was so used to this that she did not grieve at Mr. Celine's words. She didn't want to have to argue with him on her wedding day.

Regina looked at the still-closed door. On the other side, the man has always loved and protected her since childhood. He did not disparage her when he learned that she was sold to assign the debt to others. When Regina returned, Audrey was still there and volunteered to tolerate her when she was criticized and looked down upon by others. Therefore, Regina not only did not refuse Audrey's marriage proposal but also followed all his arrangements.

The door slowly opened. Rays of light from the lights in the room gradually shone on Regina's face.

Anthony took Regina's hand and led her down the aisle. His face was filled with happiness at this sacred moment. It was Regina's birthday after two years with Anthony. He took her out to celebrate her birthday because of her wishes. At the end of the day, Anthony led Regina to the aisle of a rather old church. While she was dumbfounded and admiring the interior of the church, he got down on one knee and proposed to her. The scene seemed to have happened just yesterday.

Anthony has a masculine and mysterious beauty. His deep eyes can pull the soul of the other person into it forever. Two years on, it would be a lie to say Regina has no feelings for Anthony. No one can't escape his beauty and kindness. However, Anthony's control, ruthlessness, and barbarism frightened Regina. Fear overwhelms love. In her heart, he was the reason why she had to leave her family.

At that moment, Regina looked at the diamond ring on Anthony's finger and froze. After that, her gaze quickly hid the excitement that quickly turned to disgust in the marrow of her bones.

“No matter what you try to do, I hate you the most. If you want me to be happy, spare my family and me and let me go home," Regina brushed Anthony's hand away. She saw the pain and disappointment in his eyes and quickly turned away.

"You know you can't escape me. I'll make you accept me," Anthony gave Regina a steady look that made her feel oppressed. She quickly walked out of the aisle.

Regina reached the door, then turned her head to see Anthony slowly searching for the ring that had been thrown between the rows of seats. She moved her lips just to let herself hear "I’m sorry, Anthony."

“Regina! Regina!” Mr. Celine's voice suddenly brought her back to reality. "Why are you just standing there? We need to go. Everyone look. You've been embarrassing me all day, if only you could get a corner of Stella."

Mr. Celine mumbled and then tugged Regina to move forward. No matter what happened today, he would not allow anything to prevent this wedding from being a success.

Regina knew she was just thinking about someone she shouldn't, so she adjusted her mood and walked into the wedding with Mr. Celine. In front, Audrey was waiting for her in a luxurious suit. His eyes focused only on Regina, the most beautiful girl today.

Regina rolled her eyes around. Anthony was not here. She didn't know what she was feeling in her heart right now, happy or sad. She should be glad for Anthony's absence because he'd said no matter who she married, he would come and steal the bride. Or should she be disappointed that he didn't respect their time together for the past six years? For a moment, Regina saw Anthony's butler. She was stunned. Did he have another dangerous mission?

Audrey reached out and took Regina's arms from Mr. Celine lovingly. Behind the veil, no one could see her expression clearly. Regina quickly regained her composure to perform the sacred ritual. At this time, she was about to become the wife of the person she loves, so she must not think about other men.

The oath was taken. Two rings were given to each other. Regina Celine and Audrey Collins officially became legally husband and wife. Everyone present clapped and congratulated this beautiful and talented couple. Regina put her hand on Audrey's arm and received good wishes from distinguished guests. Moments later, a wedding attendant came and whispered something to Audrey.

"You'll stand here and wait for me. I took care of a few things, then I'll be right back. You will welcome everyone on my behalf,” Audrey instructed Regina carefully and followed the staff to another place.

Regina didn't have time to ask what happened. She followed Audrey's back and sighed. High heels and a heavy wedding dress made Regina tired with each passing second. She did not like the noise but still tried to smile to avoid embarrassing both sides of the family. At this point, Anthony's butler approached Regina and handed her a large gift box.

“Sincerely congratulate you. This is a present from my boss giving to you. The boss was busy today, so he couldn't come. I ask for your understanding,” said the butler respectfully.

“My thanks go to him,” Regina accepted and nodded her thanks.

The butler respectfully bowed and left. Seconds later, Audrey returned and took the gift from Regina's hand.

"What's on your mouth?" Regina frowned. She raised her hand to touch Audrey's lips and realized it was lipstick.

"Nothing. Earlier, the makeup artist said that my face looked a bit lifeless, so he put on some lipstick. Doesn't it look weird?" Audrey slightly dodged Regina's hand. He gently rubbed his lips to remove the pink color from them. Regina laughed and shook her head. The two continued to talk to the guests and friends.

On the far side, a man witnessed it all through the glass of a window. His eyes were dark and contained only the smile of the bride.

“Boss, let's go home. You're hurt," the butler advised Anthony. The black vest exudes elegance but also serves to cover up colorful things such as blood. Blood ran from Anthony's arm down his hand and slowly dripped onto the ground. The housekeeper knew Anthony once again risked his life to get things sorted out quickly and came to see Regina on her wedding day.

"Let's go," Anthony closed his eyes to control his rage and possessiveness. From now on, he could only watch and help Regina from afar.
