Chapter 4: Detect cheating

Regina came out of the bathroom with her wet hair and a slightly red face from the heat of the water. Audrey was reading messages on his phone and then turned around when he heard the bathroom door open. He froze at Regina's graceful beauty, then swallowed and walked closer to her.

“Wait for me to take a shower,” Audrey kissed Regina's fragrant hair and went to the bathroom. The sound of the water made her blush involuntarily.

Regina fixed her short nightgown and climbed into bed. She didn't know how long she had waited for this moment. Without making Regina wait long, Audrey walked out of the bathroom with only a towel wrapped around his waist. He walked to the wall and reached out to turn off the light. Audrey and Regina spend a passionate night together.

"Anthony, please don't..."

Do not worry. I'll make you crazy happy."

"No, Anthony," Regina startled and sat up on the bed. Sweat drenched all over.

Regina turned to the side and did not see Audrey anywhere. She took the phone from the nightstand, it was only three o'clock at night. Where did Audrey go?

Regina looked down at her body. Above were still the salty things of her and Audrey. Regina went to the bathroom and washed herself. She suddenly remembered the erotic dream she had had about Anthony. In the past, every time Anthony forced Regina to go to bed with him, he would wholeheartedly shower and take care of her after it was all over.

"I've been spoiled by him," Regina sighed and shook her head. Regardless of the times when Anthony was like a wolf in bed, he was always nice to her under his control.

Regina went out of the bedroom but still could not find Audrey's figure. She happened to see everyone's wedding gifts for her. Her hands touched them lightly, full of tenderness. Her best friend was not here but still tried to deliver the gift on time. In the card, the friend's words were still as vivid as before and also included a few threats if Audrey dared to make Regina cry.

Regina laughed. Her eyes suddenly landed on a gift box lying peacefully in the dark corner, Anthony's gift box. Regina set aside the other presents and took the box Anthony's butler had given her. She felt her heart beat faster as her hand touched it.

Regina took a deep breath and opened the sturdy box lid. For a second, her breathing seemed to stop. Hands stiffened in the air. Her eyes turned panicked and bitter. In the gift box, a jewelry set includes meticulously designed earrings and a necklace. Each diamond is hand-set on a circular plane and radiates a sparkling light.

"You are my moonlight."

Regina remembered Anthony used to whisper this phrase in her ear whenever he returned from clashes with other gang forces. Anthony hugged Regina and greedily inhaled her scent. He carried her to the armchair and carefully sat her down. After that, Anthony rested his head on Regina's lap and hugged her waist tightly, and then fell asleep. Each time, Regina would conveniently stroke Anthony's hair. The soft growl that came from his throat showed how much he enjoyed this action of hers.

At first, Regina was extremely resistant to this series of actions. However, she discovered that only when Anthony faced big and dangerous missions, he would show this coddled face. Regina gradually got used to her interactions with Anthony.

Regina gently stroked the jewelry in the box and sighed. She looked out the window, the moon was bright tonight. Moonlight is always what illuminates and guides things when they fall into darkness. However, being someone's moonlight was harder than Regina thought.

The door made a noise that startled Regina. She went down and saw Audrey walking slowly inside. When he saw Regina, he panicked a bit but quickly regained his composure.

"Why aren't you asleep yet?" Audrey smiled and took off his jacket.

“I got some sleep. I can't see you so I'm looking for you. Where are you going at this hour?" Regina blinked.

“I was afraid that you would wake up hungry, so I went to buy more dinner for us. Sorry for leaving without telling,” Audrey held up his hand and showed her the food in his hand. He led her to the dining table and placed the food in the bag.

Regina smiled happily. She opened her mouth to accept the food given by Audrey. Perhaps, all her life she just wanted to be at peace like this. Regina thought she should put all the past behind her, including the strange scent of her husband now.

~Two months later~

Regina and Audrey were on the front page of the week's entertainment magazine cover again. The two were widely recognized as the most beautiful and happiest couple of all time. Regina and Audrey went everywhere together. Audrey officially ran the family business. Regina became a sought-after jewelry designer. All of her designs were trendy and luxurious and aristocratic.

Regina put a piece of cake in her mouth and carefully read this morning's magazine. Her lips showed a sweet smile that made many passersby turn to look. Regina looked at her watch and put the magazine on the table. Today was a big day.

“Have you been there yet?” A text message from Audrey popped up on Regina's phone.

"Of course. I'm resting for a while before meeting my partner," Regina texted back with a sly look.

Two months was neither too long nor too little time. Many things happened. Regina really felt happy when she was with Audrey and was pampered by him unconditionally. Her hobby was designing, not running a company. Mr. Celine passed away from a heart attack. After thinking, Regina accepted to give half of the shares in her hand to Audrey.

The Regina family company and the Audrey family company would eventually be managed by the two of them. Regina decided to let Audrey run both companies at the same time. Now, Stella had just graduated from college, so she returned to help Audrey manage the company. This was because Regina was very secure. Busy work and worry for her small family made Regina also forget the people who had appeared in her past.

Last night, after getting together, Regina announced that she had to go on a business trip for two days today. Audrey froze and kept hugging her and not letting go, making her laugh with delight. Actually, Regina didn't go on a business trip. Today was Audrey's birthday. She pretended to say that to create a warm and unexpected party for Audrey. Just thinking of Audrey's happy and speechless face, Regina felt her heart fill with warmth. She involuntarily put her hand on her stomach and smiled softly.

Regina carefully selected food according to Audrey's taste. She then took the car home and crept inside. Outside on the steps, red high heels caught her attention. Regina remembered she never had a pair of heels that looked like that. Not to mention lately, she had stopped wearing high heels and switched to flat shoes. Therefore, the high heels were carefully stored by Regina in another room.

Regina frowned and carefully entered the house. The shirt lying alone on the chair made her breathe a little quickly. The noise above became the magic power that pulled Regina's footsteps. She looked at the men's and women's belongings strewn all over the road. This tight dress looked so familiar. It reminded Regina of a person, but she quickly brushed it aside.

The whole house reeked of women's perfume. The scent of this perfume Regina had smelled before. That was when Audrey went out and returned on their wedding night. Although this scent was only fleeting, it somehow stuck in her mind like that. The reason was that Regina had a good memory or because she knew the person to whom this perfume belonged.

Her hands were shaking but she still held on to the stairs to pull herself up to her and Audrey's bedroom. After a second, Regina stood in front of the bedroom. In front of her was a half-closed door. Every sound inside reached her ears.

“Aaaaah~ Slow down. I can't stand it anymore."

You are so delicious. I can't stop."

The voice and groan made Regina close her eyes to listen closely. In fact, she was just trying to avoid the thought in her head and trying to find a reason to justify the two people inside the room. The door to the room in front of her became a heavy rock but that didn't stop her. Regina pushed open the door. Darkness filled the room. However, it was not enough to cover up the wrongdoing of the two people lying on the bed.

The girl was oblivious and still hunched over the man. The sound of the bed creaking and the two's groans jarred Regina's ears. She stood there and saw it all. Her hands were no longer clenched. Everything was exposed, causing her hands to relax. Food also fell to the ground.

"Audrey," Regina whispered.
