Chapter 36

Lian's POV

With a big smirk on my face, I returned to my chambers. I was neither happy nor sad.

"Jennifer is good enough for him," I repeated like a mantra. My voice sounded abrasive, I could feel the uncertainty underlying it.

It is no news, I disliked Jennifer and she disliked me too. I couldn't bear to think that at some point someone like her would be the Luna of the Moonlight Pack.

My maids trailed behind me as I walked into my living room. After I had dismissed them, I slipped into my bedroom and escaped into my secret chamber.

Targon was still on guard. I smiled as I beheld his shining sword. He bowed and I gave him a thumbs up before looking away.

My head maid had a sore smile on her face. She wasn't happy that I made the royal physician treat a commoner but she knew she had no say in the matter and she couldn't defy my orders.

The physician was still at work. The small doctor's face was still and calm, her eyes were clamped shut.
