Renae's POV

Lian led me back at my own pace as I took baby steps towards the bed. She carefully tucked me in and walked a few distance away from me.

"Now, you have filled your stomach and you have used the comfort room. You had all you needed. It's my turn now," she said. Her eyes darkened and I knew she meant every bit of her words.

"Do not test my patience," she warned and folded her arms across her breasts. She turned her back against me and I gripped the edges of the bed.

"Where did you go when you left my birthday party?" Her voice boomed. It was cold and emotionless.

Fear gripped my heart and I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"I went to the woods behind the Hollow Creek."

"Why did you do that to me?" She snapped.

"I did nothing wrong. You were unconscious and I saved you!" I said and she turned around. She approached my bed with the speed of light and slapped me hard on the face.
