The Spy

Arabella's POV

I scrubbed the table where the customer had recently left it hard, venting my frustration after receiving Dallas's call that he still wanted to interfere in my life. He was still acting like that to me even though we hadn't lived together for a long time, and I was out of his reach.

"Bella, hey. Slow down and clean up the desk a bit." I heard the words of one of my coworkers at the beach cafe. He picked up my slightly reddened hand. "See, you're hurting yourself. We can't afford to be understaffed in a crowded situation like this, you know?"

I smiled unpleasantly, telling the truth. "Sorry, Ty. I had some thoughts that were bothering me." I should have been more in control, but the anger that Dallas was still able to keep tabs on what I was doing even when I told him not to make me furious.

Ty shook his head. "Just tell me for relief, but quickly. We have a couple more hours to work but only half an hour to rest. Time is precious here." He looked serious, folded his arm
