Chapter 42. Tricked by Mr Grim

Ella looked at the grey wolf and her heart skipped a beat. She wondered if that was officer Duke since he had disappeared earlier but she couldn't be sure. He could be a coward and ran off to save his own skin.

She looked at his features and noticed the gash above his left eye. She was certain it was him.

"Coward!" he roared. His voice echoed in the empty woods. All the animals had retreated, it was only the gargoyle, the wolf, Mr Grim and Ella who was still hiding behind the tree.

Mr Grim who still had pride , shouted back," How dare you call me a coward. Look. I am still here. You come when the battle is almost over to take a victory!"

"Victory." Officer Duke, the grey wolf, laughed loudly." This fight has just begun."

He charged towards the gargoyle who easily dodged him. Skidding across the sandy earth , he dug his nails into the ground to slow him down as he came to an abrupt stop.
