I watched from the side as Jake and the beta conversed. I sighed deeply, averting my gaze from him. It’s been about a month and a week that I was forced here, it’s been about two and a half weeks since Jake and I sat here and decided he would reject me. It’s been about that same time since our bond has been formed. Yes, we haven’t mated but the imprint. The imprint is only growing stronger by the minute. I could feel any heavy emotion Jake goes through and I just realized that now.

Sitting down here, watching him pace around as he spoke to the beta about something I don’t know but could tell had already made him feel so unsettled, I felt a light rush of despair rush through the bond and just then did I realize the gravity of this. Just then did I realize how true it is that we are mates and the moon goddess really did put us together. If I was feeling the despair this light then for him, it had to be really bad.

I couldn’t help but wonder what exactly the beta was telling him.
