Chapter 39

I awoke the next night and still felt Dominique and Tim in the house. I was glad they hadn’t left. I still wasn’t particularly fond of Tim being in my home, but he could protect Dominique when I couldn’t. Having a busted-up wolf to protect you was better than nothing. By now, he should be almost completely healed with the level of power I felt from him last night.

I grabbed my phone and was preparing to head upstairs when I looked at the screen. I had a voicemail from Nicholas. I listened to it and began to scramble up the steps. This was not good. I moved towards the room just as I heard Dominique asking Tim not to go and saying she would talk to me about it.

“No one is leaving,” I said as I entered the room.

I saw Dominique in Tim’s lap and frowned. She had asked me what I would do if she spent her life with Tim, but I had hoped she would change her mind. I was tired of waiting for her to come to me, but if it came to her leaving me altogether, I would have to wait. Dominique m
