Chapter Sixty-nine

"Do you have to go?" Elena sighed as Syria put on her shoes.

She'd been with her throughout the day and Elena didn't want her to leave. She loved her company, that she couldn't deny but having to see her go was sad.

"Unlike you lazy ass, I do have a job I need to get back to." Syria chuckled.

"So indirectly, you're calling me lazy?" Elena huffed.

"No my love, just unemployed."

"Ouch! That one must hurt." Elena's mother chuckled, walking into the living room.

"Mom! Not you too." Elena sighed.

"Your friend is right, you do need to get a job." She smiled.

"If you're ready, hit me up, I'll fix you somewhere." Syria smiled.

"See why I love you." Elena smiled, hugging her.

She escorted her to the door, helping her get a can before she went back in.

"I just got a call." Elena's father said, walking into the living room.

Elena didn't need to know who the call was from.

"What does that bastard want!" She seethed.
