Chapter Sixty-eight

The next morning, Elena wasn't surprised when she saw Syria standing on her front door with a smile on her face and a basket of different pastries. Elena rushed to open the door, slamming into her with a big hug. She promised herself not to cry again after the water works of the previous day but it was easier said than done.

''Syria.'' Elena sighed.

"Hey baby girl, glad you're back to your senses." She chuckled.

Elena knew Syria and she knew this was what she should have expected. Syria never for once was afraid of calling out her bullshit and till this day, that's the main reason why they loved each other and why their friendship will never end. I was the lover girl and she was the fighter. Where I was soft, Syria was the hard girl.

"I know." Elena sighed, hugging her tighter.

She kissed the top of her head since she was technically taller than Elena.

"Come in." Elena smiled, taking the basket of pastry from her.

"Where's mom and dad?" She asked eagerly, skipping in.
