Chapter Sixty-seven

The car finally pulled to a stop in front of Elena's house and for the first few minutes, all she could do was to look at it as silent tears rolled down her eyes. She couldn't believe she was here, couldn't believe that she was actually sitting in front of her house, staring at the familiar black gates that she was so used to seeing but has now become very strange to her.

''Ma'am, we're here.'' the driver said.

''Yes… yes, thank you. I just need a minute, i'll be out soon.'' she sighed.

''No worries ma'am, i'll go help with your luggage.'' he said before climbing out of the car.

The more Elena thought about it, the more she couldn't believe that she was actually here. This was really happening, live in the flesh and not something she was thinking about.

''I have to go.'' she sighed.

Finally, she stepped out of the car and the first thing she saw was her old dog. He bounded towards her, barking in joy as he was reunited with its owner. Elena crouched down, running her hands through him
