“So you see I'm not doing this because I don't freaking desperately want you, too. I do, but we just can't do this.” Ruby said, and Cameron looked at her.

He thought about what she said, and then he smiled. "So you desperately want me as much as I want you?” he asked.

Ruby frowned her face and turned the corner of her mouth down in a scowl. "Oh, really. How nice of you!” she said, shaking her head. "So, in everything I just said, that's the one thing you chose to hear?” she asked, pushing up her brows in a question.

He shook his head, the corner of his mouth turning up in a smile. "No, Ruby. That's not the only thing I heard but I'm refusing to acknowledge those because all I can hear from them are excuses.” He said.
