Slipping into coma

Charlotte's POV

I groaned as the sound of the ECG machine kept ringing in my head, as if forcing me out of unconsciousness.

I slowly fluttered my eyes open, but they immediately flew closed due to the sunlight that had almost blinded me.

I turned in another direction, picked up a cushion, and covered myself with it, wanting to go back to sleep since my attempt to wake up was interrupted.

I felt a presence behind me, which was followed by someone turning me back to the position I was in.

I squinted my eyes but didn't open them, fearing that the sunlight might blind me this time.

I couldn't even perceive the scent of whoever was behind me, and I wondered if the person didn't have a scent.

"It's okay now, you can open your eyes," I heard someone say, and their voice was also distant.

I slowly fluttered my eyes open again, and this time I wasn't blinded by the sunlight. It seems they've pulled down the curtains to help me see.
