Weakness

Charlotte's POV

"I don't feel like a she-wolf; I feel like my wolf is no more, and I've been hit by a truck," I muttered, my voice muffled by his chest as I stared down at my palm. I tried growing my claws out, but it felt like I was doing something funny because I couldn't grow my claws any longer.

Tears ran down my face, and I sniffed as I stared down at my hand, but he pulled me back to his chest.

"Everything will be okay," he whispered, while I was quietly sobbing for myself. I don't know what had happened to me; all I knew was that my wolf was absent.

He chuckled softly, his chest vibrating beneath me, before he lifted me into his arms and carried me to the bed and sat me on it. I kept staring at my hand silently. He had carried me like I was a weightless doll. I might pass out if I see myself in the mirror. Because of how weak my whole body felt, I knew I had emaciated.

His hand wiped away the tears settling underneath my chin before he used his finger to raise up my face.
