You're Okay?

Stacy felt her heart hurt further, knowing she must sign the contract marriage when Dan Hawk came the following day.

Her body trembled with small sobs filling up the room's atmosphere.

{ *If you don't want the contract or if you feel you are not ready for it then I won't force you, Stacy Hills*

* Fair enough. Take some time and think about this proposal. You have from now till two days time to agree to it. I'm not forcing you though. It's fine if you can't do it. I'll find someone else. Maybe a nanny will be fine* }

Stacy’s whimpering cries stopped once she recalled her Boss’s words from the previous day at work in his office.

Stacy raised her head from her knee with determination in her amber eyes.

`What's the need for you to get a nanny, Mr. Yates? I can be the nanny and substitute mother of your child. That would be a far better option than for me to remain here as a slave or to get married to the wild beast in sheep's clothing’

"I won't stand by and watch how they ruin my life for me. I can't get married to Dan Hawk, he is a monster! A big bully right from college who only wanted to get me for his sexual pleasure and I'll only become a plaything of his if I end up signing the contract. He won't mind doing whatever he pleases once he owns me. I can't sit back and watch as my own father ruins the rest of my life by getting me married to him,” Stacy muttered out loud, her determination to stand up for her rights persevering.

"You need to buckle up your shoes Stacy! Take a stand for yourself even if it's going to be once in your entire years of living! You can't let that monster become your spouse! Never!” Stacy yelled at herself, her eyes bloodshot.

Her gaze swept across the room in search of her phone.

She quickly crawled towards her bed and grabbed her phone, dialed a number and it didn't take long for the line to connect.

With her chest heaving up and down heavily, Stacy with decisiveness in her voice said, "This is Stacy Hills here, Sir. I've made up my mind to agree with your proposal. If possible, then I do not mind you coming over this evening with the marriage contract papers,” Stacy said in a rush.

"Um, that's some good news,” Bruce said genuinely with a little doubt at the edge of his voice.

"But what made you take this decision in a short span of time?” Bruce Yates asked, knowing there must be a reason for Stacy to have made such a decision in a hurry and was even urging him to bring the contract documents.

Bruce Yates wasn't a fool so he was able to detect that something must be wrong somewhere.

"Nothing. There's no reason, I've just made up my mind to be the substitute mother of your daughter,” Stacy smiled a little even when she knew Bruce Yates wasn't there to look at her little smile.

"Hmm,” Bruce sighed thoughtfully. "Fine then. I'll be at your place first thing tomorrow morning!”

"B..but why not today?” Stacy asked desperately.

She needed to get married to someone else before Dan Hawk got to her house with the marriage papers and she knew Dan Hawk would waste no time in making sure she became his wife before the sun went down the next day.

"Why do you want me to come over today? Is there something you're hiding that I might need to know?” Bruce asked with actual concern for Stacy’s safety.

"I-im fine. You can’t come today right? Then no problem . You can come tomorrow and I’ll be waiting for your arrival,” Stacy stuttered trying to hide the urgency in her voice.

"Okay, good but are you sure you’re okay? You are suddenly sounding diffeent. Is something going on?” Bruce asked, still feeling that there was something Stacy was hiding.

"No..there’s nothing. Bye,” Stacy hung up the call and dropped flat on her bed.

She just hoped for Bruce to make it over to her place before Dan could come or stop her from signing the contract marriage with Bruce Yates.

Stacy was lost in deep thoughts and tears that she didn’t realize when she fell asleep and the morning sun shone at her innocently sleeping face.

Stacy let out a yawn, turning to the other side of the bed away from the rising sunlight and hovering her pillow on her face.

Stacy turned and fell off the bed at the sudden banging on her room door like it was about to be pulled down.

"Oww,” She whined, feeling her body ache from the fall.

"Get your ass up! Dan Hawk is waiting for you in the living room!” Ethan's voice boomed from outside the door.

Stacy looking sleepy and tattered quickly became conscious when the thoughts of Dan Hawk arriving at her place registered in her mind.

"Stacy! You this dozer, are you still asleep? Is this how you'll perform your wifey duties by sleeping all day? Come out of your room in the next five minutes all dressed up! Dan is waiting for you in the sitting room. Don’t make him waste his precious time waiting for you, you hear me!?” Stacy heard her dad instruct her.

Stacy was at a loss for words to respond to her dad. Stacy knew Dan Hawk was going to come over to her house early but she never expected it to be that early.

"Goodness,” Stacy gasped, her hand hovering over her lips. "He really needs to come quickly. goddamit! I need to contact him and know where he is,” Stacy quivers as she searches for her phone on the bed.

Once she found it under her pillow she contacted Bruce Yates to know where he was and if he was on his way so she could find a way to pull up a drama so the process could take up some time till he arrived.

To her disappointment, Bruce Yates's line wasn’t connecting.

Anxiety rose within Stacy. "What am I going to do now?” Stacy thought nervously.

"I’ll send him a text message asking where he is and tell him to come quickly,” Stacy thought outwardly in a meek voice and immediately started typing the text to him.

Once done, Stacy’s gaze darted to the mirror at the bedside of her room and saw how messed up her reflection was.

She had dried-up drool on the side of her lips, black mascara running down her cheeks, and pink lipstick gloss all over her face. Her hair was like a bird's nest and her amber eyes were bulging out of their sockets with a dark bag under her eyes.
