Daniel couldn't believe the sudden feelings he had developed for Laura. He sat on his bed, trying to rationalize his emotions. Despite his confusion, he knew he couldn't tell Laura how he felt after what he had done to her family.

"How can I be feeling this way? I can't tell her how I feel after what I did to her family," he muttered.

As he sat there, deep in thought, Laura returned home. Daniel had stayed in the room all day, pondering his feelings towards her. "Good evening," she greeted.

He nodded, trying to conceal his emotions.

He wondered if his feelings were because he had slept with her. Laura walked past him, dropped her purse and shoes, and went into the bathroom. Daniel's breathing quickened as he struggled to keep pretending to hate Laura.
