Chapter Seventeen: A STRANGE BROWN WOLF

"Stay calm, put your hands up!"

Matt boomed the second I stepped out of the car.

My confused gaze regarded him only to see that he had his hands above his head and his eyes wandering the dense forest before us.

I warily raised my hands unsure of what this was about.

"The Luna sends us," he announced to no one exactly. "We're not here for any trouble."

I remained beside him by the car with my hands above my head following his gaze to trail the figure that just stepped out of the thicket.

A strange brown wolf on all fours. His eyes were dark and piercing. He growled as he scanned us momentarily before he disappeared back into the forest.

For some reason, this experience was frightening to Matt because beads of perspiration dampened his forehead and his fingers seemed to be quivering.

"Who is he?" I whispered only when the wolf had gone back to the forest.
