“There is only one way to stop the bleeding,” Dr. Lee tells us. “Alpha Dalton you are the medical proxy, you have to make the decision. Either I do this or we lose her.”

“Save her and then. We figure out what happened,” Dalton says quickly.

Dr. Lee clears us out.

“You know Leo will be her only child,” Apollo tells Dalton.

“I’d rather be childless than mateless,” Dalton looks at me. “Isn’t your baby mama getting close?”

We sit in silence.

“Oleander,” Dr. Lee tells us. “She was poisoned with Oleander. Venus is cut off and her human side couldn’t withstand giving birth to an Alpha.”
