The hunter

Seth's words paralysed me with fear. Of course, I had often heard of them, the hunters who roamed to steal pelts and kill mercilessly. For wolves were a danger to be wary of. Fragments of information returned to my memory, I began to connect all the facts that I thought I had forgotten. Like a movie slowly taking shape.

The coin, it seemed, did not work on me in its entirety. That was strange, because according to the traditions, there was no way back. But now it all seemed to make no sense.

“Do not be afraid, I will not hunt you.” He said and put his hand around my waist. -You are not my target.

At that moment I thought I saw blood running from his mouth, as if he was lying to me and the vision was meant to warn me. Running away would be pointless, I had nowhere to go, I was outcast by my own family. They would kill me if I tried to return, and I would not be safe in the human world either.

“I am a wolf, Seth.” I blurted out, with a courage that came from the bottom of my heart. “Hunters kill wolves and also...”

I began to remember what the other duties of hunters were, and my bones froze. Where I had gotten myself into, I was now in big trouble. The others in the garden were talking animatedly, celebrating my arrival.

“You are not my target. You do not understand now, but you will see that we are meant to be together.” He stared at me. “You are a beautiful woman, the most beautiful of all.”

I thought he was exaggerating, I am not one of the most beautiful women, I have seen many more graceful ones. I guess I had overestimated myself. But I also felt that connection I was talking about. Because my heart told me that I was born to be by his side, I felt so attracted to his imposing and strong presence.

He reached out his arm to me.

“I will take you to your new home, Lysa or Alyssa, whichever you prefer.” He winked at me.

That made me blush, he had the ability to make me so nervous. He was so attractive and irresistible that the gesture made me melt. I accepted his arm without clearly thinking about the danger or the consequences.

We entered the mansion, which seemed to have at least twenty rooms and a huge dining room. It was more of a building, but extremely elegant and noble, with cedar details that stood out. The huge entrance door was inscribed in gold letters, but I could not decipher any of the words.

Seth led me to one of the rooms, the last one up the stairs. By the time I got there, I felt exhausted, my feet almost cramped. But it was worth it when he opened the door and I peered inside. It was a big, huge flat, with a double bed in the middle, with moss green curtains on the sides. Everything there was beautiful, the furniture, the decorations. Impeccable new clothes hung in a huge closet. High quality mirrors, all kinds of accessories, and new dishes to look at.

“I ordered all this for you, I wanted you to feel comfortable here, it's your new home.” He murmured in my ear, he was so close I could feel his breath close to my ear, making me shiver from head to toe.

“It's beautiful.” I said in amazement and looked around.

Without another word, I kissed him directly and intensely on the lips. Without thinking twice, I had to do that to get rid of my desire. It was something I had deep inside me, a need to feel his touch. He kissed me too, making me feel the wetness of his tongue in my mouth.

I had never felt such a strong sensation. My heart was pounding with abysmal force and the heat was burning inside me. I did not want it to stop, I longed for this kiss to last forever. Obviously I was going crazy because I was passionately kissing the man who revealed to me that he was a wolf hunter.

When we were done, he left and came back with a cup of tea in his hand and a piece of cake. I accepted it with a smile as I began to fall more and more in love.

“I'll sleep on the sofa so I will not disturb you.” He said suspiciously and looked at me with shining eyes. “You should get some rest, it's going to be a hectic few days. Soon your family will know that you have come around.”

At that moment, the scene of my memories came back. My sister and my mother were fighting to keep them from taking me away, the blood on the floor... I had to try very hard not to scream at the memory. They had needed me, they had wanted to protect me, and now maybe they were in danger.

I decided not to say anything to Seth, because even though I was strongly attracted to him, I did not blindly trust his cause. I had to be careful because I was not a strong or fighting wolf, I would have to use my intelligence to survive.

He held my hands as he kissed me again, this time more gently, more quietly. I enjoyed it very much as it relaxed my body and released the tension. He stroked my shoulders and pointed to the closet.

“There are clothes there for you to put on and take a bath.” He said softly, close to my ear, so that I got goose bumps. “If you need help, I will be here.”

I picked out a blue dress that was so beautiful I was speechless when I held it in my hands. The amount of dresses was incredible, I couldn't wait to wear them all. It was a very comfortable and cosy place, like my old home, where luxury was something completely normal for me. I was looking for the bathroom to take a shower, I had to look terrible after all the hustle and bustle. He ushered me in with complete nonchalance, opened the door and smiled at me with that confidence that ruined all my plans.

“Do you want me to come with you?” he asked in the most seductive voice in the world.

I could feel myself starting to get wet, my nerves were on edge and the smile wouldn't leave my face. It was as if I had known him all my life, and yet he was a complete stranger. Even the danger didn't make me desire him any less, I looked at him and couldn't resist his charms.

I slipped into my robe, sighed, relaxed, and looked him straight in the eye. He looked at me slowly, creating this addictive attraction in me.

“Yes, I'd like that very much.” I replied with absolute sincerity.
