She got her phone from her bag and dialed his number and Ethan picked up the phone on the second ring.

"Hey there,' he said, sounding a bit surprised to hear from her again so soon. 'Hey,' Ava said, trying to sound casual. 'So, I just ran into Kimberly while I was out, and it was…interesting.' Ethan's voice grew serious.

'Are you for real? Did she cause any drama? What happened? Is everything okay?' He asked all these questions at once. He had known something was wrong immediately he heard her voice but she had insisted that everything was okay,

'Everything's fine,' Ava said. 'It was just a bit awkward, that's all.'

"Tell me everything in details please" he asked and she went on to tell him about the encounter, including the sense of relief she felt when he called.
