That Night

When Brian was dragging Elise, all eyes were on them. Everyone looked at Brian with fearful eyes. Various assumptions were made, up to the news that their boss's new secretary had just been or would soon be punished. Gossip circulated, so quickly, that Elise had seduced Brian.

Elise noticed tens of pairs of eyes looking annoyed at her. He was no less annoyed because Brian walked straight without faltering and kept on grabbing her wrists.

"Let me go!" Elise tried to snap her hands away from the cold man. However, Brian's grip did not loosen in the slightest.

"You just need to sit pretty in this car, what's the problem?" Brian asked curtly. He forced Elise to sit in the back seat and closed the door. Then he turned around and sat beside her, while the driver started driving the four-wheeled vehicle towards the residence of the Regan Family.

“What do you want exactly? Why should I come to your house? Do you need a secretary to vacuum the toilet at your parents' house? Huh!”

Elise sighed. She fumbled around the car door for something that would open it. However, the door was completely plain, not the same as the taxi she usually took.

"What kind of car is this?" She cursed indignantly after not finding any levers, knobs, or buttons there.

Brian just stared at Elise in amazement. She hasn't stopped babbling ever since. Elise really was talented, he thought.

“Hey, Miss Elisabeth! Do you know about the future world? Today, that world has come into being. The sign is how sophisticated the car you were riding at that time. Also …." Brian paused his sentence, then he looked at Elise carefully.

"Also what?" she snapped. Although annoyed, she was quite curious about the continuation of Brian's words.

“Also, because I have found you.”

“You madman! How dare you kidnap me like this!” annoyed Elise. "Help! Help! I was kidnapped by a goddamn man! I'm inside! Please, help me!"

Elise pounded on the glass of the speeding car. She hoped someone would see him and help her. Those who saw it were the police.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Brian pulled Elise’s hand that kept hitting his car window.

“Of course, I'm trying to escape. What else?!” she snapped.

"Stop that! I never kidnapped you. I'm only asking you to come with me. After all, I can turn things around. I will tell everyone that you raped me eight years ago. You know how messy I was after that?” Brian tries to threaten tried.

"You are crazy! How could I rape you? You're not even my type!” argued Elise. She was sure that the incident eight years ago was not absolutely her fault.

"Oh, really? I have evidence of surveillance camera footage inside and outside the apartment. I even still save, how violent you were when stripping my clothes. You broke into my apartment and you won't be able to avoid it if I share the evidence or hand it over to the police."

"Hah?" Elise gaped. "How could that be? I mean, what kind of person has a surveillance camera facing their bed? It seems you really are insane!”

“I'm always on the lookout for a girl like you. You saw for yourself how charming my good looks were, didn't you?” Brian laughed proudly. After all, it does happen, right? You have raped me."

Elise, who had been angry earlier, didn't even get to see that face properly. After Brian said that, she began to notice the clear eyes, sharp nose, sleeping jaw and the fine hair growing on the bottom of Brian's face. She couldn't deny that he was really handsome.

Elise immediately shook her head. She distracted her own mind so as not to be fascinated. However, she, who was already cornered, tried to rack her brain so that Brian's threat would not actually be carried out.

"Okay, fine. I won't scream anymore that I'm being kidnapped. I'll tell my brain that I'm going on an excursion right now." Elise sighed and tried to neutralize her heartbeat. She was afraid that things would turn around and she might be the one to be raped by Brian.

"Well, why didn't you do that earlier? You're just wasting your energy... screaming like crazy," Brian quipped.

"So, what do I have to do to keep you from spreading that footage in your apartment?"

Elise tried to recall the events of that night. As far as she could remember, it was indeed her who broke into Brian's apartment.

"You realize you were wrong?" asked Brian.

"Yes, tell me how I should make amends!" pleaded Elise. Her voice was beginning to soften.

"Ahh!" Brian inhaled a lot of air from his nose, then released it through his mouth. He was really relieved to see that the rebellious girl was beginning to be tamed by his threats. "It's not that hard. You only need to do one thing."

Elise was quite relieved that it was only one thing Brian asked. Once she did what he asked, she would be free from him. "What? Say it! I'll do it as long as you let me go and delete the video footage."

"Are you sure?"

Elise nodded. "Very sure. As long as you do what I asked you to do earlier."

"Alright. All you have to do is... be my girlfriend."

"Are you crazy?!" Elise pushed Brian hard enough that he leaned against the door. "What kind of request was that?! You want to use me, don't you?"

Brian, who had been pushed, immediately repositioned himself. He crossed his legs and made a haughty face.

"If you don't want to, no problem. I can drop you off here right now. I'll sign your resignation letter after you pay the contractual penalty since you ended the cooperation first, and our footage will go viral. The decision is yours... I have no problem with either decision."

"Alright!" Elise couldn't stand the nagging man anymore. The last she heard, CEO Richmond was a cold man who said little. However, the current reality is quite the opposite. All she knew was that the man who was now her boss was talkative and threatening.

"Good. You really are a sweet girl. I like it." Brian laughed, especially at Elise's bent face and the little red lips pouting forward. He was very happy to see it.

"But ...."

"Don't worry, it's just an act. You just need to act. And the most important thing is when dealing with my parents."

Elise was relieved to hear that. She was silent for a moment as she recalled the incident. However, she felt something was wrong. The car continued to drive north. The driver, who had been listening to the argument, could only remain silent. That kind of thing was entertaining enough for him. However, it was not to be disseminated.

While continuing to think about something that bothered her, Elise asked, "Why should I be your girlfriend? What with the good looks you were so proud of and the wealth you definitely have, you can't attract a girl properly? Really?"

Brian looked away for a moment, then back at the front. "I never do," he replied flatly.

"Why? Are you ... huh?" Elise covered her mouth. "You don't like women, huh? Are you gay?" she continued.

"Hey, shut up!" Brian reminded her.

Elise finally remembered a bit of that night. She felt that Brian was overreacting.

"By the way, why do I have to be your girlfriend? What did I do wrong?"

Brian sighed heavily, he was lost in thought, trying to recall what happened eight years ago.
