Chapter Fourty Eight

Scarlett’s POV

Through tear-filled eyes, I scanned my surroundings, trying to discern any details that could offer a clue to my location. But the darkness and the presence of the masked figures only heightened my sense of helplessness. I was at their mercy, at the mercy of those who sought to harm me and my pack.

As I lay there, trembling and battered, a mixture of anger and determination welled up within me. I refused to be broken, to surrender to the fear that threatened to consume me. With each painful breath, I reminded myself of the love and strength that resided within me, the same love and strength that would guide me through this darkest of trials.

Through gritted teeth, I mustered the strength to speak, my voice trembling but laced with defiance. "Who are you? What do you want from me?" I demanded, the words escaping in hoarse whispers.
