Chapter Sixty Two

Scarlett’s POV

When I finally regained awareness, I found myself lying on a soft surface, surrounded by the hushed whispers of concerned voices. As my vision cleared, Elara's worried face came into focus, her eyes filled with a mixture of relief and trepidation.

"Scarlett, you're awake," she exclaimed, her voice tinged with both worry and relief. "Thank the heavens."

I tried to sit up, my body weak and trembling. "What happened?" I croaked, my voice barely above a whisper. The memory of my panic and subsequent collapse washed over me, causing a shiver to run down my spine.

Elara gently helped me into a sitting position, her touch reassuring. "You passed out, Scarlett," she explained softly. "The weight of everything, the fear and uncertainty, it became too much for you to bear. But you're safe now."

As the fog of confusion lifted, I realized that my collapse was a stark reminder of the gravity of our situation.
