Kai's POV

I missed my pack badly, and though my heart was at peace when it concerned them, I still had the urge to be sure that they were actually doing well. I dug into my pocket and reached for my phone while my eyes darted around the nice café I'd come to relax in.

Being away from Corey and my son for some weeks messed with my mind. I needed something to hold onto, but there was nothing. I didn't want to use a mind link since I was in public to avoid attracting unnecessary attention to myself.

Callan picked up after one ring like he had been expecting my call.
