“You sent for me.” Cassie barged into Grey's office, watching him like a creeper.

He was seated in a swivel chair facing the window. As he heard her voice, he rotated the chair towards her, looking a bit startled to find her standing by the door. His eyes widened as he took in her appearance.

“You broke my rules. No one barges into my office that way.

“Some rules are meant to be broken.”

“Not when my business is involved.” He stood up from the chair and took some steps forward. “Why did you come? I least expected to see you here.”

“We had a deal, didn't we?”

“Is that what this is about?” He chortled. “I can make it easy for you. If you're here for the raise then quit it, I will give you my credit card to take whatever amount you need.”

“Do l look like a bloody beggar to you? Just because I'm cash trapped doesn't mean I'm ready to adhere to every gibberish you spill out. I work for my money, okay?”

“I could save you the stress.” He smirked, the sarcasm clearly on her.
