"Em, you do know you can't work while you're with me, right?"

I felt a tug at my heart as she stared at me with a distraught face for a moment. Soon enough, her face contorted into one of disdain and rebellion.

"Excuse me?"

I sighed, pressing my fingers to my temples to break the news to her in a light way.

"Everyone now knows that you're my wife. This would make almost everyone want to be associated with you, even if it is just to get to me. I want you to be cautious of those you talk to and those you work for. Not everyone is deserving of your attention, Em. You're my wife."
