CH 22: Bye Everbury

Lizzy’s POV

It was finally time for us to leave Everbury. Early in the morning, when the sun had just risen, we woke up and started getting ready. I packed all the clothes and essentials into suitcases and Leo loaded them into Jason’s SUV, which had a bigger trunk.

As if it was hard to part, Anya hugged Mia tightly from the moment she woke up. I understand this because Anya has been very close to Mia since she was a baby. I also found it hard to part with her. Maldiva and Everbury are about five hours away by car, and that’s if there are no traffic jams. If we part, we don’t know when we’ll see each other again.

Mia’s eyes were red, and she seemed to hold back tears with all her might, while Anya was already crying in Mia’s arms. I also tried to hold back my tears. Jason realized this. He hugged me from behind. “Lizzy, what if we stay here for a few more days?”

“No need. The separation will still happen, anyway. Leaving now or later is the same,” I replied while wiping my wet and puffy
