Timothy generously gave a suggestion. "It's fine, then. I'll make supper and deliver it to you."

Chelsey wandered away to keep her distance from Lucas. She declined, saying, "Tim, save the trouble. I don't feel like having supper tonight; you can go ahead. I'll buy you a meal next time instead."

"That's okay," he replied.

After a pause, he wondered aloud, "Why are you with Lucas Yates? Did he take advantage of you or anything? Tell me if he did. I'll give him a good beating."

She hurriedly denied it, "No, he didn't. I've sorted things out with him. I'm just here to visit his mom because she has some kind of brain tumor. I'm worried about her."

"Alright then. Call me if you need anything." Timothy hung up in disappointment.

After Chelsey put away her phone, she turned around to find Lucas staring at her with much hostility, as though he had caught her cheating.

She gave him a look and went into the patient's ward.
