TWENTY NINE

LIAM’S POV:

I received a call from the station that Ava lost her life while engaging in a fistfight with her cellmates who seemed to have beat the life out of her.

We were then asked to contact her relatives to come and bury her body.

I didn't feel any ounce of pity for her. Serves her right for betraying Mia and trying to make her lose her baby.

I told Mia what the officers said about Ava and I could see a tiny bit of pity reflect on her face, but it disappeared as soon as it appeared.

“That's good,” she said trying to sound less concerned but I could see that her mood had changed. She looked a little down.

“Mia, are you okay?” I asked her.

“Do I look like I'm not okay? I'm okay of course,” she said with a shrug.

“I'm just wondering if you were affected by the news that I just relayed,” I said feeling concerned.

“I'm not affected at all, in fact, I'm the happiest girl on earth right now,” she said with a smile which I think was forced.

“You sure?” I asked with narrowed eyes.
