Alpha Chase's Pov
The past few weeks had been hectic, from attending human meetings for my businesses to dealing with pack issues and challenges as the Alpha. After I sent the girls I picked from the selection to be groomed, I was too busy to visit them or monitor their progress as I left it all in the hands of my Beta. I haven't informed them of what I needed them to do but I planned on addressing that today. After a long day of pack meetings and discussions, I arrived at my home, the six-story pack house. As I stepped into the pack house, I immediately noticed the tension in the air. The pack members were gathered in groups, whispering to each other and glancing nervously at me. I could sense their fear and uncertainty.Once they noticed my presence, they all became mute and I knew something was wrong, and I quickly made my way to my office. As I opened the door, I was met with a sight that made my blood boil. My elder brother, Ryan, was sitting in my chair, his face twisted with anger."Alpha Chase," he spat out, his voice dripping with venom. "We need to talk."I took a deep breath and tried to remain calm. "What's going on, Ryan?" I asked as I dropped my jacket on the chair next to me.Ryan stood up and approached me, his eyes blazing with fury. "You know damn well what's going on," he growled. "You've been neglecting your duties as Alpha. You're too busy chasing after humans, and women, and running your businesses to take care of your pack."I felt my anger rising, but I forced myself to stay composed. "I have not been neglecting my duties," I said firmly. "I've been doing everything I can to balance my responsibilities. And you of all people must be aware of that." I said coldly, not caring about the age difference between us.Ryan snorted. "Balancing your responsibilities? You haven't even been around to deal with the rogues who have been attacking our borders. We've had several casualties because of your incompetence! Father should have let me become Alpha instead," he roared, slamming his fists on my table.I clenched my fists, feeling the urge to shift and show Ryan who was boss. But I knew that wouldn't solve anything. He was my elder brother and people were at the pack-house, waiting for the outcome of this matter and I needed to find a way to calm him down and address his concerns."Ryan, I understand your frustrations," I said calmly. "But attacking me like this isn't going to help anyone. I need to work together with the people to find a solution."Ryan sneered at me. "And what solution do you suggest, Alpha? More empty promises? More lies?"I took a step forward, my eyes locked on Ryan's. "I suggest we have a meeting with the rest of the pack and discuss our options. We need to come up with a plan to deal with the rogues and any other challenges that come our way."Ryan hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Fine. But if you don't step up and start acting like a true Alpha, I'll make sure the pack knows it."I watched as he stormed out of my office, his anger palpable. It took all of my self-control to not hit him and give him a bloody nose as she sat on my chair and roared at me but I had to keep my cool.I took a deep breath and let it out slowly, trying to calm myself down. Ryan had always been a thorn in my side, but I couldn't let his behavior distract me from the task at hand. I needed to lead my pack and protect them from any threats.I grabbed my things and walked to my room. As I walked by, the people greeted me but I didn't pay attention as my mind was focused on getting a lady tonight and burying myself deep inside her.As I opened the door to my room, the familiar scent of my own space calmed me down. I dropped my things on the bed and took a moment to collect myself. I couldn't let Ryan get under my skin like that again.Once I got to my room, I threw my bag on the bed and headed straight to the bathroom. I turned on the shower and let the warm water wash over my body, relaxing my tense muscles. I closed my eyes and let out a contented sigh.I grabbed my body wash and began lathering myself up, enjoying the feel of the suds on my skin. I couldn't help but think about the new girl I could find from the girls ever since Feina decided to leave after my last outburst.I finished washing up and turned off the shower, stepping out onto the soft bath mat. I wrapped a towel around my waist and walked back to my bedroom. I opened my closet and began to choose my outfit for the night. As I looked through my clothes, I couldn't help but feel a sense of restlessness. I needed to release my pent-up energy, and I knew exactly how to do it. I quickly dressed in a free size top and free pants.I walked out of the room and headed to the kitchen. I grabbed my coffee from the counter as I would every night and left the kitchen.I walked towards the elevator and pressed the button for the second floor where the rooms of the girls I picked were located. As I arrived on the second floor, I walked out to find Lisa, so she could bring the girls out.But as I turned the corner, I bumped into someone. I looked down and saw a tiny girl, barely reaching my chest. She had long brown hair, luscious skin, and an average size body. I couldn't help but feel a jolt of electricity run through my body as I looked at her."I'm sorry," the beautiful frame stammered with her voice hoarse from crying as I could hear her sobs. Without waiting for my response, she continued running away and I was dumbstruck. After she disappeared from my sight, I looked at myself and noticed she had spilled my coffee on me."Damn it," I muttered, annoyed at the girl for spilling the coffee on me.I turned back around, intent on finding her and giving her a piece of my mind. But when I reached the end of the hallway, she was nowhere to be seen. I sighed, realizing that it was a lost cause. As I walked back to my room to change my shirt, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something different about that girl. Something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I pushed the thought to the back of my mind and focused on getting ready for the night ahead. But as I walked towards my room, I couldn't help but feel drawn to her. Something about her had caught my attention, and I couldn't shake it off.As I got in and stared at myself in the mirror, my mind raced with thoughts of the mysterious girl. Who was she? And why did she seem so upset? Was the pack house not good enough for her?I took a deep breath and tried to push the thoughts aside, but I couldn't shake off the feeling that I needed to find her. Suddenly, my phone rang, interrupting my thoughts.I picked up the phone and saw that it was a text from an unknown number. The message read: "Alpha, something had happened to the halfling, the witch's daughter. I fear she's dead!”My heart sank as I read the message. The halfling was not an important member of our pack but because she was the daughter of one of the most powerful witches in the supernatural world, she was important to me, to my desires. If she was dead, it could have serious consequences as I planned to use her for something beneficial to the pack and my revenge against her kind.Without hesitation, I grabbed my clean shirt and headed toward the door. I needed to find out what had happened to the halfling and make sure that my pack was not attacked in any way.As I stepped outside, I heard a noise behind me. I turned around and saw a figure standing in the shadows, watching me. It was Ryan, the one person I didn't want to deal with right now. But what did he want? And why was he here? Was he involved in her disappearance just to get to me?Without thinking, I walked over to him and grabbed him with my Alpha strength, pinning him to the corner."Where is she, Ryan?” I asked with my Alpha voice, my eyes changing to that of my wolf.He choked, "Let me go if you want to find her."His words made me angrier but I had to let go of his neck, "Where is she?" I asked, clenching my fists. He massaged his neck before speaking, "The girl, she's …"Alpha's Chase's Pov "The girl, the halfling, I don't know where she is," he managed to say and I groaned in frustration. "Ryan, what are you doing here?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm. "I heard about the halfling," he replied, stepping out of the shadows. "I came to offer my help." I raised an eyebrow in surprise. Ryan had lost the Alpha title to me a few years ago, and he'd never been one to offer help without expecting something in return. "What's the catch?" I asked suspiciously. "No catch," Ryan said, holding up his hands in a gesture of innocence. "I just want to help. The halfling is important to our pack, and we need to find out what happened to her." I hesitated for a moment, considering his offer. Ryan and I had never gotten along, but if he was telling the truth and wanted to help, I couldn't afford to turn him away. "Fine," I said finally. "But don't expect me to trust you completely." Ryan nodded, and we set off to find out what had happened to the halflin
Alpha Chase's Pov My heart sank at his words, and anger boiled inside me. "Heavens know I would find whoever caused this," I gritted. Who would do such a thing? And why? My mind raced as I tried to come up with answers, but none seemed to make sense. "Can't you do anything to save her?" I asked the doctor, my voice impatient. "I am going to do everything I can," he replied, "but the poison has already spread too far. I'm sorry, but I don't think there's much hope." I looked at the girl lying on the bed. She looked so fragile, so innocent, and yet someone had deliberately harmed her just like I wanted to but who got to get before me? "Such a weakling. Despite your powerful family background you still could not defend yourself," I spat at her half lifeless body. I rolled my eyes, feeling nonchalant about her health although wanted her to die, but by my hands. "Take her away! If you treat her and she recovers then fine, you can bring her back to me. But if she doesn't, give her a
In the Hospital. Trying to find another way to save the girl, the doctor left. Suddenly, the machines monitoring Royal's vital signs began to beep loudly, indicating a sudden drop in her heart rate. The doctors and nurses rushed to her side, trying desperately to revive her, and after a long time of trying and trying, she was breathing again but still unconscious. The doctor, frustrated by the turn out of events and unsure of what to do placed a call to the Alpha to inform him of her condition but he didn't pick up the call. After hours of trying to reach the Alpha with no response, he decided to call the Beta, hoping to get a response from him. "Beta Simon, I'm the doctor treating the halfling from the pack house. I have news on her," he paused hoping for the Beta to say something before he continued. The Beta's voice crackled through the phone, "Yes, Doctor. What news do you have?" "I'm afraid her condition has worsened, and we're doing everything we can to keep her stable,
In the hospital. The doctor took a deep breath and pushed all his doubts aside. He knew that he couldn't let his fear hold him back from doing what was right. He had taken an oath to serve and protect all those who needed his help, and he wasn't about to break it. With a steady hand, the doctor injected the antidote into the girl's arm and waited anxiously for any signs of improvement. In a short while, the girl's breathing became less labored, and color returned to her cheeks. The doctor let out a sigh of relief, knowing that the antidote was working. He went into his office and his phone rang a few minutes after. It was a strange number and the doctor knew it was the anonymous man from earlier. "Hello, Doctor. How is the girl?" the man asked. "She's doing much better now, thanks to the antidote you provided. I can't thank you enough for your help," the doctor replied. "I'm glad to hear that she's improving. But there's something else you need to know," the man said, his voice
Pack House, Royal's POV. It felt like years since I last opened my eyes, and when I did, my head throbbed with pain and my vision was blurry. I struggled to adjust my eyesight to the brightness of the room and then to focus, but everything seemed hazy and distorted. I felt like I was in a dream, but I knew this was all too real. "What happened?" I asked myself. As my vision cleared, I realized that I was lying in a bedroom and not in a hospital room, but hooked up to various machines and monitors. Panic set in as I tried to remember what had happened to me. The last thing I remembered was feeling sharp pain and fainting after someone came to save me from the rain. Suddenly, a nurse rushed into the room, a look of concern on her face. "Oh, you're awake!" she exclaimed, checking the machines and monitors. "How are you feeling now? Are you feeling any discomfort or pain?" she asked and I could not answer. I was not in full control of my body. "Do you know what happened to you?" She a
Royal's POV The Alpha stared at me and seemed to sense my unease, but he didn't make any move to leave. Instead, he stood up and walked over to my bed, his eyes never leaving mine. I felt like prey trapped under the gaze of a predator. "Royal the halfling, you seem scared?" He asked and I looked at him with squinted eyes before lowering my gaze. "Is it because of me or the girl who bullied you and kicked you out?" He asked indifferently like his words held little value. "What do you mean?" I asked back with a calm voice not wanting to make him feel challenged. "I'm perfectly fine. I am not scared of anyone. What happened to me was an accident while I was looking for something that fell outside. No one bullied me," I answered, hoping he would end this conversation and walk himself out of the room. "Royal, in case you are not aware, your presence in the pack house is under my command. And I brought you here for a special reason," he said with an increasing voice. "You have no rea
Royal's POV I wasn't sure if I was his target for this revenge or not, but I knew I had to convince him to not go through with it. I took a deep breath and forced myself to speak. "Alpha, I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with this. Revenge doesn't solve anything, and it's not a good way to handle things. There are other ways to solve the issue….." The Alpha's face contorted in anger. "You dare question my methods? I am the Alpha of this pack, halfling, and I decide what is best for us. Even if it means revenge on my enemies and those related to them. You of all people should know that!" He spat and I felt my body turn hot from the intensity of his voice. Mimi snickered from the corner, clearly enjoying my discomfort. I felt a surge of anger at her, but I quickly suppressed it. I couldn't afford to show my weakness in front of the Alpha. "I understand that Alpha, but revenge can have consequences. It can lead to more problems than it solves," I said, trying to reason with him, hop
Royal's POV But to my surprise, the Alpha slowly released his grip on the dagger and took a step back. "Very well," he said, his voice laced with disappointment. "I had hoped you would be more loyal to your pack, but I can see that I was mistaken. It is in your nature as a witch after all," he snickered. I took a deep breath and inquired, " Alpha, what is his offense?" I asked, staring at the man kneeling in front of us. The Alpha chuckled loudly, and I could only stare. "Do you really claim not to know him?" He asked again and I shook my head. "She never saw me Alpha. She was unconscious all through," the weak man said and I turned to him, looking confused. "Have we met before?" I asked him and he nodded. "Yes Halfling, I was the doctor who treated you after you were found." "Oh my….Doctor, what are you doing looking like this? What happened to you?" I asked as I rushed over to him, helping him to his feet and onto a chair. The hefty men who brought him in tried to stop me
