Chapter 49

Atasha's POV

When Mr Lim was gone we decided to head home.

Conrad is the one driving while I am sitting in the passenger seat, eyes focus in front.

I didn't bother to open any topic because I am still in the middle of absorbing everything the Hudson's told me.

Hours had passed but I can't still get it off my head.

In my peripheral vision, I can see Conrad stealing glances at my side.

"Is something wrong?" he asked after a while.

I looked at him then shook my head and flashed a small smile.

"I'm just tired," I repeated the same excuse I used earlier.

Conrad let out a deep breath then reached for my hand and gently squeezed it.

He didn't say anything, he just held my hand until we reach his condo and that is what I needed.

Feeling the warmth of his hands is better than hearing comforting words from him because I might doubt his words...I might think he is lying.

Conrad open the door for me and after that, we headed inside.
