Chapter 53

Atasha's POV

I looked at Conrad's face intently. He remained poker face refusing to show any kind of emotions which made everything even harder.

"Do you have a warrant?" he asked turning his head to the police I am with.

The police fell silent. They looked at one another which simply implies that they don't have a warrant for arrest.

"You are the last person seen with Ruby Taylor which makes you the primary suspect. You have to come with us for further questioning," the police almost the same build as Conrad spoke.

Conrad looked at me once again.

"I'm innocent," he coldly uttered not to defend himself from the police officer but from me.

I looked away when I can no longer hold the intensity of his stare.

"The court will decide whether you are innocent or not Mr Sawyer," said the officer and after that it was followed by silence.

When I turned my head on Conrad he is still looking at me intently and the way he stares made me even more nervous.

After a while, he looked at the police off
