Chapter 30

I hovered over Bella trying to think of something I could do to comfort her as her breathing became labored, more screams slowly happening around me as others felt the first stages.

“Bella… what can I do?” I did not expect her to answer and she didn’t too focused on the obvious pain.

I watched mystified and horrified as I watched her left arm jut out as bones broke and reformed in front of my eyes. She had her mouth clamped shut as if she was refusing to allow herself to scream. I glanced around the room as I saw many people in the same position, the rest of us waiting in a panicked trance. My eyes met with Victor’s again as he seemed to be watching me intensely, his expression disappointed as if he had expected me to start shifting already.

Bella scared me as instead of screaming this time she howled, her eyes connecting with mine were black. I smiled at her knowing that the hardest part for her was over as her body began to continuously crack and reform int
