Chapter 31

I woke up with a jolt in an unfamiliar bed, groaning in agitation for passing out again. Makayla’s deceased body swarming my mind, her face mixing with Luna Ashly’s. I glanced around this room noticing the wooden walls and minimal furniture realizing I was inside the cabin. I threw the sheets off of myself before jumping up a bit too quickly, falling back down on the bed. I frowned confused before getting up a bit slower. I felt oddly shaken on my own weight as if my legs could give out again at any moment. I groaned and slapped my thigh with frustration before walking towards the only window in the cabin. It was a large double door window that was currently covered by black-out curtains, ‘odd’ I thought. I reached out to pull the curtains back as Domini rushed up and slapped my hand away, his concerned face glaring at me.

“Laura? What the hell are you thinking?” He asked as if I was a stupid toddler.

there seems to be no character development from her. I know it's traumatic for her but surely she would try to find something out about vampires and their strengths in a library? she just seems to faint and understand nothing
