I gulped at the question of Lansford because it just felt like he knew where I really came from. I really could not guess if he was asking because he did not know or he was simply testing me if I was telling him the truth or not. This was one of the things that somehow made me fear him… he was just one of the people I could not predict.
Clearing my throat, I replied, “What do you mean by kingdom? I am not a princess or anything so coming from a kingdom is definitely not possible. What are you even thinking?”
