What happened the next day after Lansford found out about my true identity as a red fox, I did not really like what greeted me so early in the morning. I had a good night’s sleep indeed but upon leaving my room so I can head to the kitchen and find something I can cook, Lansford was in the living room.

“Morning. What’s with the piles of papers around? Are you studying for an exam?” I asked.

He did not say anything. He simply motioned me to sit beside him while holding a few documents I could not understand. Occupying the seat near him, he showed me a book with colored illustrations. If I was not mistaken, it was possibly a book for children.

“Before we depart tomorrow, I will be teaching you how to read so you can survive on your own when you make future deals in my stead,” he said.
