MELISSA’S POV

“Boo!” Layla tried to scare me and laughed so hard.

“Oh, my God. Layla, you almost got my heart out of my chest.” I said, touching my chest, and feeling how fast my heart was beating.

“I’m sorry. But I just wanted a bit of fun, and I got a good laugh over it.

“I see. I hope that you get an award for making me scared.” I rolled my eyes and sat on my bed, hiding the picture as I didn’t want her to see it.

“Anyways, I do hope that you have grown older this year.” She said as she sat with me on the bed.

“And what do you mean by that?” I asked as I folded her arms.

“Well, you know. Using my ugly picture to taunt me.”

I laughed. “You know that I am never going to stop doing that.” I said, with a smile.

“Ugh. You are so unbelievable.” She said as she rolled her eyes.

“I know right.”

“Anyways, I am staying over. I want you to be the first to wish me a happy birthday.”

I chuckled and sat properly on the bed. “And who else is there to wish you a happy birthday, first?” I scoffed
