MELISSA’S POV

I fell to the floor, and some of my things fell down as well, including my bed side drawer, and then I saw the wrist band, lying on the floor.

~Flashback~

“This will come in handy, take it.”

I hoped that this was what she was talking about, and I tried to reach it on the floor, but I was too weak to reach out to it. The pain of my bones, cracking, was weakening me by the moment, and it seemed as if my human sense of reasoning was blurring away.

“Oh, come on.” I muttered under my breath as I tried to reach it.

My heart was beating fast in fear that Layla would see me like this and that I would hurt her.

“Hey, Melissa.” She said, excitedly. “What are you doing on the floor?” She asked, in a low tone, looking baffled.

“Uhm… I tripped, but I am fine.” I said as I stood up and began to pack my belongings.

“I see. I never noticed the wrist band on your wrist. When did you get it?” She asked, looking at it out of curiosity.

“Well, it was a gift. An old woman gave it to me,
