Chapter 81: Too close to home

~ Lumiére's POV~

Lumiére's heightened senses alerted him to a sound that seemed out of place. Even before fully comprehending what was happening, he instinctively knew that something was amiss.

No one, except him and Noah were present in his penthouse. Noah's movements were not the source of the sound because Noah didn't move stealthily like the footsteps he was picking up. The guy moved loudly like a bull, so it wasn't him.

They had entered the house together several hours ago, and no one had entered since then except Arin who still left after a whilr. Even in his weakened state, Lumiére could piece together those details.

There were invaders in his home.

With a deliberate effort, he slowly snapped his eyes opened and quietly climbed out of the bed, being cautious not to make any sudden movements.

Despite having fed recently, Lumiére still felt the lingering effects of his weakened state. He was tired, his energy taking its sweet time to fully replenish.
