Forty- eight

Eira’s POV

I sincerely didn't want to hear it from the maids or the guards in the Palace because I knew that the incident must be a very heart breaking one for Selene. I want her to slowly let go of her demons because that's the only way she can overcome her social phobia.

“I will tell you some other times, okay?” She replied after a while and I voiced my reply for her. I told her she could tell me anytime she feels comfortable and I wasn't in a rush.

“I think the food already got cold, ” Selene said, indicating the meat that the maids brought when Dolphus left and my stomach started gurgling. That was when I noticed that I haven't eaten anything since I woke up and I was caught up with everything that I had forgotten to eat.

I looked at the meat on the stools and checked if it was still warm but it wasn't.

“Should they bring another?” Selene asked, after seeing that I didn't answer for a while.

“I think I will just eat it like this, ” I answered and took a bite from the meat but I c
