The last straw

“Let go of me, I am your Luna. I demand some respect. Take those hands off me now!” I shouted at them but it fell on deaf ears.

They started searching the room and sniffing through my belongings and ransacking my drawers.

“What is the meaning of this Logan?” As soon as the words left my mouth he slapped me.

“It hasn’t been a day, I told you, and you...” He wagged a finger at me and was interrupted by one of the warriors.

“What are you talking about? What have I done for you to do this to me?” I struggle for the warriors holding me to let go.

“You’ll soon find out, witch.” He turned his gaze away from me and focused on the warrior who was standing in front of him.

“Alpha we found this.” He said presenting them to him. “It seems she was planning to run away, I found some bags packed.”

I never had any of my bags packed, I never planned to run away. I only had the thought of running away. How come they found my bags packed?

I turned over to the corner and saw my attendant smirking.

My jaw slacked and I was horrified by her looks.

Logan grimaced and his eyes darkened, he turned to Matthew.

“Do you know what this is?” He asked him, showing him the herbs and some seeds the warriors had given him.

Matthew told them and sniffed it.

“It’s poison herbs, and this seed is also poison,” Matthew told him.

“They were under her bed.” The warriors who had found them interjected.

“You did this, didn’t you?” He charged at me, I shook my head in denial.

“You’re insane, I have no idea what you’re talking about!” I shouted. Logan came to me and hit me across the face.

“Your mother was a witch, wasn’t she? I should have known this was your plan!” He screamed in my face.

“It causes miscarriage in pregnancy. This was probably what she used to kill Blair’s baby.” Matthew implied with malice laced in his voice.

“What?” I gasped.

“Logan, I...I...it.” I tried to explain but I didn’t know what to say or how I was going to defend myself. Logan was no longer the sweet man I married, standing in front of me was the opposite of the man I fell in love with.

This man felt nothing for me except hatred.

This was all a trap.

It was all a setup and I fell into it.

“I didn’t do it, believe me, Logan. I didn’t do...” I got a hold of his leg and gripped them tightly.

“Logan you’ve to believe me, I didn’t do anything.” I cried.

“Then where were you?” He asked.

“I was in the wood.” I wanted to say Alpha Jamal was there but I don’t want him involved in my mess.

“Lies, Lies. Sera.” He scowled and kicked me over the stomach.

“I...I...”

“Shut up! I do not want to hear any more words from you.” He snarled and hit me again on the side of my ribs.

“I, Logan Miller, Alpha King of Crystal Fall Pack along with the majority of the elders in the present. Have agreed to reject you, Seraphim Breckinridge as my mate and Luna Queen of this pack...” He growls in a low voice.

“...renounce your title as the Luna.”

The bond snapped and the pain blinded me instantly, my vision was blurry and I couldn’t see. My knees fell to the ground clenching my chest.

There was nothing from Logan, no love, no desire, no lust.

If anyone had told me Logan was going to do this to me I would never have believed, I thought he loved me as his mate, as the woman of his dreams.

Maybe it was all my hallucinations, I was too blinded by love to see the man for who he truly is.

“I accept your rejection and renounce my title.” My head was down on the ground, my wolf was completely shattered and broken and had already given up. It doesn’t even matter if I accept the rejection or not.

As long as the elders has given their consent there was no say in it.

But I didn’t want to feel like a loser.

“Seraphim Breckinridge is hereby sentenced to death for the murder of my child. And the cause of harm to Blair and enough evidence we had seen. Everyone saw how you treated Blair and how you wanted to get rid of her.” He shouted, and he turned slowly staring at everyone in the room.

“Seraphim is an hybrid, we know the blood of the witch is in her! She’s the power to have killed Blair’s baby because she could not have hers!” He yelled and veins were throbbing from his neck.

Blair lost the baby, that was it?

My entire body was paralyzed.

“Your servant came to us and report to us of your deeds and how you planned to run away.” That was when I saw the elders behind Logan shaking their heads at me.

I doubt if it was of pity.

“Take her away!” He ordered and walked away without another stare.

“Yes, Alpha.” Matthew hauled me to my feet and dragged me down the steps, I was pushed and cursed at.

It was the same me they cherished five years ago.

When did it all change?

I made Logan King.

Logan became so powerful because of me. I accept Blair as my sister, I treated her as my sister! But this was all I get.

I couldn’t wipe the tears so I let them spill off my eyes.

I started to laugh hysterically as the elders had gathered to watch my death. Laughing and crying instantaneously.

I was forced to bend down the wooden stump.

“Bring the sword!” Logan yelled and he didn’t waste any more time as the sword was handed over to him as if he had been preparing for this moment.

The sword was a sacred object of the royal family, it was composed of several blue and white jewels which was the color of our pack and it was related to the moon goddess.

Logan grabbed the sword tightly, this was when it dawned on me, it was the last straw.

Everything had been for nothing.

All I ever wanted was a happy home and a loving mate but fate has other plans.

I placed my head on the block.

“Your sentence is to be carried out immediately,” Logan announced, I looked around the crowds and I saw Blair smirking at the side she stood hiding from the others.

Why didn’t I see it from the start?

Why did I find out too late, the kind of people I was surrounded with?

That was when I saw his eyes scanning through the crowd until he met mine. He looked desperate to come to me.

Alpha Jamal.

“Wait, no!”

‘Dear moon goddess, please give me one last chance, answer the cries of this dying Luna.’ I heard my wolf pray.

“Seraphim!” Jamal called and a faint smile touched my lips, I have never heard him call my name before but there was something clouded in his voice.

The emotions that I couldn’t comprehend.

Jamal, it was too late.

With the sound of the sword swinging and the feel against my neck, a tear escaped the side of my eyes and my hand fell to the ground.

And it was all darkness...
